So, It has been a while since I showed up here. I have been finalizing some issues, so pray for me :). Last Tuesday we had our yearly trip to Cairo ICT. Frankly speaking, I didn’t like it the same way I did last year. I expected a lot of amazing stuff this year, but I found almost nothing. I dunnu why it came like this, the financial crisis, or what, but if it did affect, how come 400 corporates joined this year in this round? I have seen only one touch screen, and it worked only with the technician standing there, when I tried it, it didn’t work, but I loved the application that was running on it, it was a news reader application, but the hardware as been said, didn’t work properly.

Ramadan Commercials

One really spreading thing is how every company is trying to show her offers in Ramadan, Etisalat, Vodafone, Mobinil, Pepsi, Cocacola, Chervrolet (and the amazing “I AVEO” Commercial). Really how much money have been paid for ALLLLLLLLLL these ideas?! I have to tell, that the marketeer are really amazing and VERY creative, because it’s a very HIGH challenge they are facing in front of each others.

Etisalat chose an idea which has been performed in an EXCELLENT way, bgd chapeau!. Vodafone came with an offer and performed it well, when I first so the Police Station commercial, I was amazed, masha2 Allah. Mobinil and the whole new network which is something old btw, got an excellent performers and a great idea to deliver the whole thing. Cocacola and Pepsi chose a performer to present a product, although I think pepsi has got the idea from the performer himself :), so it has the lead here (with Cocacola I mean).

I started to search around, I found some of these commercials on YouTube, so I thought of gathering all together, check them – I couldn’t find the AVEO Commercial, although it’s great -:

Trick of the Century*

Most of you don’t know that Vodafone offerred 1000 Free SMSs for anyone who will charge with any “Card” value in the pilot of this month, the offer was great really, I have no credit now and I’m just using these SMSs. The offer is for August only, so once it’s done, the rest of 1000 SMSs are gone!

I really knew by chance, when I was charging using the 10 EGP valued card, when I have been told that I will have the offer applied to my number in 24 hours, that was on Saturday 02^nd of this month. So, I told AnGel, My Mother, Biko and Psycho. AnGel got her card at night I think and she got the offer, but for my mother when she got her card just yesterday, she found that the offer is finished and it won’t apply for any extra numbers. I really got astonished, and I wondered why?!

I even started to think about the offer. I use “kalamna“, in which SMS costs 30 Piasters and a minute from a vodafone to vodafone 20 Piasters and for any other 40 Piasters. So, for me 1000 SMS costs 300 EGP and I think this is the least SMS price in all vodafone systems – “Super Dardasha for example, 39 pt -.
