2009 Recap, This was my year

I started the year ending tomorrow with a post and a poem, strangely, there was a mess about Gaza and words accusing Egypt. Tomorrow is the end of a new year in our lives, I thought of having some highlights on special days I had with family, friends and colleagues.

February, 10^th: Cairo ICT ’09 Trip, one lovely day, with my AnGel, friends and colleagues, we had a great day. We also saw some great stuff there.

WordPress 2.9, Carmen

A couple of days ago, the guys at Automattic announced the latest release of the mighty blogging platform; WordPress 2.9, Carmen – named after a Jazz vocalist Carmen McRae -. This release comes really with a lot of cool features like the one I really love, Trash. So, instead of the old dialogue, “You are about to delete this post..bla bla bla”, you can now just move it to trash, cause most of time you are really sure that you are deleting a post! Then you can permanently remove it from your trash, or as we can say, empty your trash.

Baker is Out!

Automattic has “just” announced that WordPress 2.8, aka Baker is out! 2.8 represents a nice fit and finish release for WordPress with improvements to themes, widgets, taxonomies, and overall speed. We also fixed over 790 bugs. This release is named in honor of noted trumpeter and vocalist Chet Baker. Here’s a quick video overview of everything in the new release:

Automattic Launched VideoPress.com

Yesterday, Automattic announced launching VideoPress.com after announcing the EXTRA cool Video feature that is available to WordPress.com user, that I wish I was a usual one of them to use this feature after doing an upgrade, I even wonder can this be for self-hosted wordpress users? I think it will be available soon as the whole framework is Open Source which is really terrific!
