What if?!

For most of you who really know me, you would realize that I’m not a football fan, I don’t even play it, and watching it comes in a very particular circumstances like when our national team is playing. Recently, there was a LOT of debates on the three goals that will send us to World Cup 2010, which we didn’t actually go to since 1986 I think. A lot of quarrels between Algeria’s and our newspapers, TV Shows, and even the fans of both teams on the internet.

Both of them describe others in a very bad manner and whoever started this, this ain’t good! By chance, I see videos, status messages and links to articles everywhere about this topic and how those described these and vice versa. I should tell that this really S*CKS! Guys, come on, it’s fun, not a war! Stop being aggressive for something that we should enjoy, not plan and design attacking ways to reply them!

And let’s stop for a second, then ask, What if Algeria won this match?! How would all those mouths look like then?! And how will we look like then after all people trying to reply Algerians that “We will defeat you”?! Why don’t we make it like this, “It’s a match, a looser or a winner we are all Arab.”, even if they describe us in a bad manner? All voices will suddenly transform from being supportive and encouraging to Egypt’s national team, to being frustrating and describe them that they are amateurs and didn’t take the responsibility. COME ON! we reached World Cup, or didn’t have fun, go and watch the match for 90 mins, just to have fun!

Can’t you feel the conspiracy behind all this, to keep all your minds far away from real issues that happen around us?! I started to feel that Egyptians just love to be so. And I imagine how will be the situation if we reached World Cup when most of Egypt’s youth will be busy just watching all matches, doing the math to know who might we play, and if we can defeat them of no. And in another way, yes it’s football, but it makes us “Arab” look like we can’t even bare each other even in fun? :S

Algerians, Egyptians, best of luck, just make a good match, I pray to Allah not to hear that X number of viewers in the stadium were injured and another number went under other viewers feet!

Although I’m one of the people who believes in conspiracy’s in many situations but this situation is definitely not one of them ; You said that you’re not a football fan and you don’t play it and that’s why you don’t have the same feeling as all of us, If you’re a football fan and played a serious football match in a friendly tournament for example and lost it you and your team mates will feel bad about it .. I’m talking about a friendly match here between amateurs so imagine how all the fans will feel when their National Team have 1 final chance to reach the best football tournament in the world ?

Believe me every one have the right to express his feelings the way he likes it, But although that I don’t like it when people start talking about Algeria in a bad way .. Talk about your team in a good way and their team in a bad way if you want but not their country ..

Also many people are not looking at this as a football match, Nationalism made people imagine this match as the long waited war that our brigade of 11 players have to win .

It’s not feeling bad if we lost, it’s all about letting it go, we can encourage them, but not to go so far with what’s happening.

I do sport btw, sometimes we go to play ping pong, yeah, yeah, it’s kinda different, but we play it for fun, as long as you are in the match, you insist on winning, but as long as it’s done, you can still let it go :), be happy or feel bad for while, and then, there will be another match, even after four years :D

Nationalism, tell me about it :), but it’s not a war, and they don’t have to win, they just need to make their best and show us their skills in doing so :), I love seeing it from this point of view :)

      Al salam A’alykom

about what “mohamed medhat” were talking about

i don’t think that playing a football match would change my feeling when i’m watching one

i do play football and sometimes watch matches, and i don’t really get angry when i lose a match.

      its all about having fun!
