iPhone in Vodafone&Mobinil
Today Vodafone announced that Apple’s iPhone is now available in their stores, Mobinil did the same announcement with same following prices:
the 8GB iPhone, 3,800EGP
16GB Black and White iPhone, 4,450EGP
The two companies has removed the GPS feature from the phone, which is for me not a major thing, but what really confuses me is that the original price from Apple in USA will reach 1100 in EGP ($200), with all features included and with unlocking the phone it will work normally here, so why did Vodafone and Mobinil made it this way? It really makes me angry how such companies I thought it will reach 2000EGP or something, but not a 1:4 relation. I dunnu if I will buy it this way but mostly I won’t.

and i have registered it in Vodafone
and after 2 days i got msg saying :
“great news ! the apple iphone 3g you registered for ; will be available tomorrow at vodafone stores”
this was 13/11/2008
but it is too expensive here comparing with it’s price in other countries
Then, All of you should feedback to Vodafone/Mobinil and tell them that you will buy it from ebay and unlock it manualy

unjailing iPhone 3G is not possible yet using software (only) method, you would have to get some dirty hardware to help you so, but AFAIK it’s not possible/easy to unjail/unlock iPhone 3G.

those douchbags at vodafone have just got under my skin ef them, really..couldn’t imagine the frustration I’ve been through just after my sight fell on that number: 3,800 le, seriously?!
in fact, you shouldn’t be confused at all, iphone 3g is sold in us at 200$ yeah, right..but you will be legally committed to a 2-year contract with AT&T which during you’ll be paying the rest of bit of piece of the phone price unconsciously.
after that shocker, I may go for the original phone if I bumped into it..God be with us
umm..and to wipe out any ray of hope you might be seeing , you can get the UNLOCKED iphone 3g at about 700$ in US
