Google have just launched a new feature which made Gmail shines more and more; Gmail Themes.

Themes

Themes allow you to customize the look and feel of your Gmail account. To choose a theme, click a thumbnail on the Themes tab of your Settings page.

In some cases, you can also customize by location. Some themes change during the day, and we use the location information you provide to correctly time these changes with your local sunrise, sunset, and/or weather. If you select one of these themes, you’ll see a Country/Region drop-down menu appear. Select the country you want, and then enter a city in the field provided. If you don’t enter a city, or enter an invalid one, we’ll set your location to the capital city of the country you selected. When you’re done, click Save.

Note: Google developed most of the themes, but three were designed by external artists; Phantasea Renewal was designed by Matthew Ferreira, Summer Ocean by Jim Honeycutt, and Cherry Blossom by Vania Sofandi

Country and City Settings

Just WOW, I’m really impressed. What really amazes me, the CAPITALIZED word “BETA” under the gmail logo in the upper left of the page, for how long will they keep amazing us with such features, the loading bar and faster gmail, then now comes the themes.

I have been trying them out, I really liked Planets and Shiny, they really rock. Here are some screenshots:

    ah, I have submitted an idea gor the Gmail Help Discussions Google Group, to unify the iGoogle themes with Gmail ones, do you think that it will be a good idea?

    You should find it when you click Settings, if you didn’t just check the Gmail Help Discussions group, I think they have similar cases.
