Guys, check this out.

One of my friends, Samer Gad (aka, JaVaWy), he is Sun Certified JAVA Programmer, he once told me that he has failed in JAVA as a subject in the college, I didn’t believe him, how come?! Today, I have created another object of such class “javaFail”. It was the worst exam ever, For 3 hours, I was trying to figure out is this a real exam?!..

The first questions which was related to Electric Circuits - What?! You said JAVA exam right?1 - yes, and it was the easiest questions of all in my point of view, it just needed simple knowledge that the Voltage (V) = Impedance (Z)* Current (I) , the whole thing is about creating the matrices and multiply two of them to get the third. Although I knew the idea of the whole question, which seemed to be hard for others, I didn’t manage to code it right. Because he needed to get the Current Matrix, which needed us to inverse the Impedance’s one (Y) to multiply it with Voltage and simply get the current - Easy, ha?! -.

It then started to fade to black after the 1st unsolved question, till I reached the 6th, which was the real mess!. I had to suggest coordinates which were not being mentioned all over the exam - WHAT?! -. I forgot to mention that it’s not PURE JAVA, the subject name is “Drawing using Computers”, it talks about JAVA Applets, so we had to “draw” - is it Electric Circuits or ART exam?!, just nvm -. Through the exam, I had time when I couldn’t stop laughing, laughing and laughing .

I got out of the exam, with no single word, no comment. I estimated my grade in such subject and I’m not optimistic at all when it’s related to this..

AI, it stand for Artificial Intelligence, I have to be good at this subject because I know that this is future, for both machines and strangely for Web. That for sure will appear “more” in our lives soon, yeah it exists, but we just can’t believe that it exists. The exam was TERRIBLE!

Imagine, you are sure that the exam has 2/3 of the questions as MCQs and the rest is some “Right or Wrong” and “Coding some prolog applets” - I wanna call them applets because they were somehow small -.We went, I was expecting that the “MCQ” thing is just a cover for a disaster and it won’t be good at all and my guess came right when I saw the Questions Sheet, it was “Fill the blanks” instead of MCQs. It might seem ridiculous, talking about the difference between MCQs and Fill the blanks, but just have a minute to think about how you may study for each. In MCQ, you simply just choose an answer from several possible ones, this is a bit easy. In “Fill the blanks” type, you have to “REMEMBER” the answer that you have “BLINDLY” Revised because you are filling “TRUE STATEMENTS” and they have to be TRUE after filling them, so they have to be exactly the same as you “REVISED”!

One word I may REMEMBER in the last lecture, “I don’t like Revising, the exam is all about understanding the purpose of AI in our lives” and simply I may reply “THANKS!!”

Another PROOF that the exam was about “understanding”, the 4th question, the route tracing problem, which was copied from the slides, this one in my opinion ONLY NEEDS REVISING!. Revising a table of “SYSTEMATIC” words to “PASTE” them in the answers sheet.

NO Comment! but I needed to mention this..

The question now, for how long education will stay like this, just revising and revising and revising?!! Even subjects that should be understood have to be revised?!!

I was shocked when I had a look at my previous CV - now I can know why didn’t Google message me back last year , Joking! -. So I started to re-create it again, updating it with latest info I could tell, like my CairoIT’s training last year and that I’m in 3^rd not 2^nd year in the college, and then, I was shocked again!! :wtf: I found that I have developed no applications since my last contribution to dkSystems, all what I did was hacking come code here and there, installing some pre-created CMSs every now and then and this is something I really HATE!

I believe I’m pretty good with web administration and I think I have very good experience with most CMSs that have ever been introduced to web, how do they work, how can I customize them, hack them or even implement new features, but I didn’t do THAT contribution I can say to web.They are all stuff that you can’t find a way to put in your CV except in just two lines - or two lines and half :S -. I think this vacation will have a 180 change, I have to be more practical in my work, beside all I have some plans for my skills, especially my technical ones. JAVA, Linux - again?! - and more into PORTALS are some topics that is related to what I’m talking about. We can add to this my summer training which mostly will be at CairoIT again, I enjoyed being there last year and here I am again .

If you haven’t noticed, but gmail now looks marvelous - It’s marvelous since a long time, but this one looks great -.
