May be it’s my first time to talk about Linux in my bLOG, and I still wonder why?!..Anyway, 2day I managed to install Fedora 7, explaining the problem I faced while “Moonshine” came to life, this is what I’m gonna talk about!

First of all, when red hat announced the release of Fedora 7 “Moonshine”, I hurried up, started to look for i386 CD images, but suddenly I discovered the real problem. Red hat released Fedora 7 on DVD iso image, without having another installation source on CDs, I got an idea which was downloading the DVD iso image, and using a program like “Daemon-Tools” which emulates a number of Virtual DVD/CD drives on MS Windows, I will copy the DVD’s content and put it in a new directory. Using a bootable media, like Fedora 7 Rescue CD, I will boot to the installation script, and I will install the system through a hard disk installation process (Hint: You can use, CD-ROMs, NFS Servers, HTTP servers and FTP servers to make a successful installation, add to this the hard disk installation). So I did what I decided to do, but when I booted to the installation script, I found that the installation script can start installation from the image file (iso file) just after you supply it with the path of the image file! So, I rebooted my PC, copied the image file to a vfat partition (it has to be vfat partition or ext3 one to allow fedora to read the image file) which holds some free space and I rebooted it again using the bootable media, then it gave me some choices of how I would like to install the system, I chose Hard Disk, Loading..

It notified me with the partitions placed on my hard disk, but a strange thing to realize, it uses the naming sd** to name the hard disk partitions, while other fedora releases and also most of Linux distro.s use the naming hd** for a typical IDE disk, I searched for that and I found that they used the sd** naming cause of something called libdata driver in the kernel, and I’m gonna search for that to know more about it isA. I searched for the partition which holds the Fedora image, pressed enter and tararaaaa, anaconda starting, detecting..and the installation process begun!!..Familiar steps for someone who did install a Linux system b4, and easy one for someone new to the system. I went through these steps, and it took almost 30mins to get things working and logging to the system!

Tab3an it took me almost 3 hours to install my favorite applications, amsn and xmms is working now!..And the new thing: “BERYL“..AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE..
tahreeeeeg..nas bet-harag bgd y3ny :)..

Tab3an troubleshooting beryl cause I didn’t deal with b4, and thanks Allah..DONE!..

A thing to mention bas, 2day we had Shabakat exam, and THANKS ALLAH bgd enaha gat 3ala ad keda :)..I was frightened y3ny :D..bas el 7amdolelah :)
